System for Alternative Schooling and Education
Not all children learn via the same methods or respond to
the same stimuli. Some require extra support and a sensitized learning
environment. The System for Alternative Schooling and Education (SASE) is a
customized platform for children that have special educational needs or a
learning disability. This initiative began in collaboration with globally
recognized educational body such as the Northwest Accreditation Commission
(NWAC) and the National Dropout Prevention Center (NDPC).
Ideally, educational systems should endeavour to meet every
student’s needs, not the other way around. Unfortunately, this is not the case
everywhere. Therefore, the contemporary requirement of an individually adaptive
system for disseminating education has led to the establishment of SASE.
Initially, the idea of SASE came from the alarming national
school dropout rate in India. It is widely known that this issue is the genesis
of a compound problem, and many are working to solve the physiological causes
i.e. absence of proper infrastructure and basic amenities. SASE, however, is
focusing on the psychological aspect in order to help schools and parents
identify those students with a learning disability, such as dyslexia and ADHD,
and provide them with the right education solutions.
SASE caters to schools and parents as well as students and
provides them with alternative education,
means of home schooling where necessary, special and inclusive education,
remedial education and more. Built by a team of educators that support
mainstream schools to identify learners with additional needs, SASE also
provides counseling to students and their parents. This ensures the
implementation of a supportive learning environment, whilst a flexible
assessment structure enables them to progress on an equal footing with their
peers.
SASE believes that learning disability is not a barrier to
education. Instead, it’s a challenge for teachers and the education system in
which they operate to think differently and educate with an innovative, person-centered
approach.
